Florida Keys, Florida
The Florida Keys have always had that classic, sunny skies, and tranquil blue water look, but this time I wanted something different – something that was more than just picture-perfect beauty.

A moment showcasing the moody stillness before an imminent storm was the image I hadenvisioned. After weeks of planning, I finally managed to capture this idea – a striking contrast between the power and elegance of mother nature.

The pier was so captivating with its worn wooden structure, and the water at peace as it lapped against the shoreline. Anticipation was building. The key, shooting multiple frames from different angles, making sure to capturing every intricate detail – from the weathered boards of the pier to the delicate birds at rest. To provide that tranquil mood, it was critical to use a longerexposure the still waters perfectly reflecting the glow from the light within the clouds. A dreamlike image, like something out of a movie. Everything seemed so peaceful just before thestorm had set in to make its presence known. It was a true serenity amidst chaos.

With each passing minute, more clouds moved in until they completely blocked out any remaining sunlight – leaving behind only darkness and shadows across every inch of the ocean in the foreground. The combination of each exposure brought my vision to life, resulting in a photo that I hope gives a glimpse into my creative mind.

The water in this print feels less like a postcard and more like a memory – the way the surface catches light without trying too hard. I've got it hanging in my hallway and keep catching myself staring at that spot where the color turns from aqua to deep navy. It's exactly the kind of tranquil that

The blues in this print shift from deep navy to pale turquoise exactly like the shallows off Key Largo — it’s my third time buying from this artist and this one’s the keeper. The texture of the paper catches the light so the water actually seems to move when I walk past it in the hallway.
