2008年のクリスマス直前の記録的な降雪は、砂漠に雪が舞い降りる魔法のような瞬間をフィルムに収める絶好のチャンスを与えてくれました。2008年12月16日の朝は、私が決して忘れることのない朝となりました。キャリアを通じて私を導いてきた直感に従い、午前5時に家を出て、自宅からほど近いレッドロックキャニオンへと向かいました。冬の空の暗闇の中、三脚を設置したとき、何か壮観な出来事が起こりそうな予感がしました。重い雲の切れ間から金色の太陽の光が差し込むのを見たとき、私の心臓は高鳴りました。惜しみなく私の前に現れたこの雄大な光景は、数秒のうちに消え去りました...光は去り、その瞬間は終わり、私の記憶とフィルムの中だけに永遠に生き続けることになったのです。
