コロラドロッキーの紅葉はちょうどピークを過ぎた頃で、予想していたのとは違うスタイルのショットを撮らざるを得ませんでした。この朝、信じられないほど寒いハイキングの後、早めに車を走らせました。太陽が昇るにつれ、長い影とバックライトに照らされた凍った雪の結晶が遠くでキラキラと輝き、私の目を引きつけました。あまりの寒さに、手がくっつかないように三脚の脚にガファテープを巻かなければなりませんでした。アドレナリンに満ちあふれ、太陽が結晶を溶かすまであと数分のチャンスしかないと分かっていました。純白の影の配置がこの一枚を生み出しました。静けさの中、自分の心臓の鼓動が聞こえるほどでした。
