ロケ地にいるときはいつも、太陽が見えようが見えまいが、太陽とともに目を覚まします。前日は素晴らしい天気でしたが、この日は雪が降り、寒さが身に染みる一日でした。太陽の光が顔を出そうか迷っているかのような時間に、私はこの場所までハイキングしてきました。自分らしくないことですが、目の前に広がる大自然の美しさにしばし心を奪われ、30分もの間、ただ見とれていました。凍てつく風が一瞬にして我に返らせ、私はカメラをセットし、刻々と変わる雲の合間を待ちました。まるで合図があったかのように、雲が切れ、壮大な山々の眺めが柔らかな陽光に照らし出されました。視界は雪と霧と雲で真っ白でした。しかし、すべては足元の暗く安定した大地に支えられていました。この作品は、その日の澄んだ空気の香り、冷たく新鮮な空気、そして長く続く冬の訪れを感じさせる、夢のような情景をそのまま伝えています。
